A Long-Standing Political Bond
Shivraj Singh Chouhan, a senior leader of the BJP and a central minister, reminisced about his over 35-year association with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday. He recounted his political journey, which began with the 1991 Ekta Yatra led by senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi. Chouhan noted that his connection with PM Modi started during this significant event. In 1991, when the Ekta Yatra commenced from Kanyakumari to Srinagar, he was responsible for managing the journey, collaborating with Modi, who was organizing the youth as the coordinator of the Keshariya Vahini.
From State to National Leadership
The central minister further elaborated that later, when Modi took on the role of National General Secretary and became in charge of Madhya Pradesh, he was serving as the state general secretary of the BJP in Madhya Pradesh. Chouhan reflected on his tenure as Chief Minister of various states and his current role in the central government. He mentioned that after some time, he also became Chief Minister and worked alongside Modi when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Eventually, Modi became the Prime Minister of India, and today, Chouhan feels privileged to serve as a central minister in his cabinet.

Chouhan announced that his book titled 'Apnapan: My Experiences with Narendra Modi' will be launched on May 26 in New Delhi. He expressed that throughout his public life spanning over three decades, he has had the opportunity to observe and understand Modi's personality, leadership, service, governance, and national dedication from various perspectives. He mentioned that he has humbly woven his experiences, emotions, inspirations, and life values into his book 'Apnapan'.
