Central Agriculture Minister's Visit to Punjab

On Monday, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Central Agriculture Minister, visited the Patiala district in Punjab. During his visit, he operated a tractor, engaged with farmers, and advocated for direct seeding of paddy as a water conservation method. While in Rouni village, Chouhan explored new innovations in agricultural mechanization and encouraged farmers across India to adopt this technique.

Chouhan expressed his respect for the fertile land of Punjab, highlighting the crucial role of its hardworking farmers in enriching the nation with food. He noted that farmers in the region are successfully implementing direct seeding of paddy, which conserves water and reduces costs. Chouhan further stated that the 'Developed Agriculture Resolution Campaign' is designed to connect laboratories with land and farmers through science. Over the past eleven years, the government has prioritized service, good governance, and welfare for the poor, marking significant strides towards a self-reliant and developed India.
