Shivpuri Bridge Collapse: Six Workers Injured in Construction Mishap

Incident Overview
Shivpuri: A section of an under-construction overbridge in Shivpuri district, Madhya Pradesh, collapsed on Sunday, resulting in injuries to six workers, according to officials.
The collapse occurred around 1 PM near a bus stand and a railway level crossing along the Pohri highway.
Fortunately, no workers were present directly beneath the collapsed area, which prevented more serious injuries. The injured individuals were engaged in laying concrete for the bridge, which has a budget of Rs 80 crore.
The Madhya Pradesh Public Works Department (MPPWD) has awarded the construction contract to Subham Construction.
Praveen Pandey, a quality control official from the construction company, stated that the incident was caused by a technical error.
He explained that excessive vibrations beyond the allowable limits led to the instability and subsequent collapse of the structure.
Kripal Singh Rathore, the in-charge of Kotwali police station, mentioned that a notice has been served to the construction agency.
He added that a technical investigation is currently in progress, and legal actions will follow based on the investigation's outcomes.
