Alliance Announcement for Upcoming Elections
On Monday, the Shiv Sena (led by Uddhav Thackeray) and Congress officially declared their alliance to contest the upcoming municipal elections in Pune. This announcement was made by senior leaders Satej Patil and Sachin Ahir. According to the initial seat-sharing arrangement, Congress will contest 60 out of the 160 seats in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), while the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena will field candidates for 45 seats.
Ongoing Negotiations for Remaining Seats
Leaders from both parties indicated that discussions regarding the allocation of the remaining 55 seats are ongoing, with expectations for further clarity on the seat distribution in the coming days. On Sunday, Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar announced an alliance between the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Sharad Pawar faction of the NCP for the upcoming Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal elections. Ajit Pawar stated that this coalition symbolizes a reunion of the family.
Finalizing Candidates for Pimpri-Chinchwad Elections
During an election rally in Pimpri-Chinchwad today, Ajit Pawar mentioned that while finalizing the list of candidates for the Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal elections, both factions of the NCP decided to collaborate. This collaboration is expected to reunite the family once again. He noted that there were many questions among the public about the future, emphasizing that sometimes decisions must be made in the interest of Maharashtra's development.
