On Wednesday, MP Anil Desai confirmed that the whip had been released, stating, "We have called for a parliamentary meeting. The whip has been issued, which means all MPs must be present." He also addressed reports concerning a letter requesting protection against mergers, explaining, "This is also in our Constitution, and every party seeks some form of protection."
Comments on Rebel MPs
Regarding the alleged derogatory remarks made by Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut towards rebel MPs, Desai clarified that these comments should not be interpreted as directed at any specific individual. He added that the language used was merely colloquial and not intended to target anyone in particular. "When someone who has spent 50 years in politics and public life speaks, such things can happen," he noted, emphasizing that no specific person was being addressed.
Concerns Over Recent Political Developments
On Tuesday, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant expressed concerns that recent political activities were occurring without consultation with party leader Uddhav Thackeray or the party leadership, with the party learning about these developments primarily through media reports. In a press conference, Sawant stated, "These recent events and actions are not being taken with the advice of Uddhav Thackeray or us. We are receiving this information from media reports. No one in our party has indicated they are leaving."

He emphasized that the party operates based on a collective framework rather than individual or group interests. Furthermore, he mentioned that Shiv Sena (UBT) has written to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, requesting the protection of constitutional provisions. "We have sent a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla regarding the protection of the Constitution. Any future actions must align with constitutional provisions," he stated.
