Sharad Pawar's Stance on Special Parliament Session
In response to the opposition's call for a special session of Parliament, NCP leader Sharad Pawar expressed that he does not oppose the idea. However, he emphasized that the matter at hand is sensitive and serious, suggesting that such discussions may not be suitable for Parliament. He noted that it is crucial to keep certain information confidential for national interest, advocating for a collective meeting instead of a special session.
Comments on Donald Trump's Interference
Pawar remarked on U.S. President Donald Trump's comments regarding India's internal issues, stating, "Until now, we have not allowed any third party to interfere in our domestic matters. However, this is the first instance where President Trump has made remarks about our internal affairs."
Concerns Over Terrorism and Pakistan's Involvement
During a program in Satara, Pawar raised concerns about the presence of Pakistani officials at the funerals of terrorists killed during Operation Sindoor. He questioned how this aligns with Pakistan's denial of involvement in cross-border terrorism. He stated, "India has never supported terrorist activities. What is happening is a result of terrorist actions, such as the Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 lives. Despite Pakistan's denials, their complicity is evident."
Questioning Pakistan's Role
Pawar further pointed out that representatives of the Pakistani government attended the funerals of terrorists killed in Indian strikes in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK). He questioned the significance of their officials' presence if there was no involvement from their government. He also stressed that while India is facing a serious crisis, it is fully capable of responding with its military strength.
