Shankaracharya Critiques RSS and Ram Temple Management During Go-Suraksha Campaign
Shankaracharya's Criticism of RSS and Ram Temple Management
During his Go-Suraksha campaign, Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati expressed strong criticism towards the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the management of the Ram Temple. He accused RSS members of lacking faith in Lord Ram, suggesting that the temple operates more like an office for the BJP and RSS rather than a sacred site. He claimed that RSS members do not regard Lord Ram as a deity and have been accused of encroaching on the Ram Janmabhoomi.
In a conversation with Govind Giri, the Shankaracharya questioned the whereabouts of those who claim to be true disciples of their gurus or genuine children of their parents during the legal battles over the Ram Temple. He also mentioned plans to send a legal notice to Govind Giri. The Shankaracharya expressed concern over access to the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, noting that only VVIPs were allowed entry while saints from Ayodhya were denied access.
He stated that although five thousand saints were invited for the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, none were permitted to enter the sanctum. He urged followers of Sanatan Dharma not to remain silent on this issue. Furthermore, he alleged that the idol installed in the Ram Temple is not the one involved in the legal disputes, asserting, "The idol of Ram Lalla, which has faced rain, hardships, and all kinds of challenges, is now kept in the storeroom."
Expressing his desire to visit the Ram Temple, he stated, "I will definitely go to the Ram Temple; it is my heartfelt wish. However, I will only go on the day the temple is completed. Currently, the temple is not finished; it is merely an office for the BJP and RSS. Wherever I am, I will visit the Ram Temple once it is built."
