Victory Rally Celebrated by Afridi

Following the announcement of a ceasefire between India and Pakistan, former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi organized a rally in Karachi called "Youm-e-Tashakur" (Day of Gratitude). This event was intended to celebrate the perceived triumph of the Pakistan Armed Forces over India in recent conflicts. During his speech at the rally, Afridi praised the strength of his country's military, labeling them as "unbreakable" and accusing India of targeting civilian areas and places of worship.

"The world witnessed the might of our army when we acted. When you challenge us, you will realize how tough you truly are. You have harmed our innocent children and civilians."

Critics have expressed concern over Afridi's inability to differentiate between terrorists and civilians. India has previously stated that it targeted nine terrorist camps in Pakistan, while also defending against ongoing shelling and drone strikes from across the border. Pakistan's response included attacks on innocent civilians in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, amidst their own losses.

Afridi's claims of Pakistan destroying Indian posts and infrastructure have been met with skepticism, as much of the evidence presented by Pakistan has been discredited, with some being sourced from video games.

Afridi's Controversial Remarks on Modi

In a strategic move, Afridi attempted to protect his image in India by criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, suggesting that Modi misleads a significant portion of the Indian populace. He acknowledged the positive relationships between many Indians and Pakistanis, particularly in the realm of cricket. Afridi stated,

"How can you, without any investigation, blame Pakistan within just 10 minutes? I have played cricket extensively in India and have met many educated, respectful, and well-mannered individuals. However, where is Modi leading this situation? He has tarnished India's image in Canada, Qatar, England, and America. This is unjust. India is making progress, and we have always celebrated that success. Cricket is advancing, and that should not hinder another nation's growth!"

Additionally, Afridi engaged in a controversial exchange with former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan, referencing a past incident involving Wing Commander Abhinandan Vartaman, who was captured by Pakistani forces and offered tea.
