The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced a Red Alert for the Chamba district, effective on July 20 and 21.


The District Disaster Management Authority in Chamba, along with Additional Deputy Commissioner Vikas Sharma from Bharmaur, has advised residents to avoid areas near rivers, streams, and slopes that are susceptible to landslides. A special notice has been issued for Manimahesh pilgrims, urging them to refrain from unnecessary travel during this time.


Residents are encouraged to take precautions for children and the elderly, ensuring that livestock is relocated to safer areas.
