Late Monday night, the weather in the national capital, Delhi, and its surrounding areas took a sudden turn. Intense rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning drenched the city. In response to the situation's severity, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an 'Orange Alert', signaling residents to 'stay alert'.

The weather department indicated that areas such as Kashmiri Gate, India Gate, Akshardham, Safdarjung, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Defence Colony, and Lajpat Nagar are expected to experience light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms, with wind speeds potentially reaching up to 60 kilometers per hour.

Forecast for Various Areas

According to the weather department, light to moderate rain, along with occasional thunder and lightning, is anticipated in locations including Burari, Model Town, Delhi University, Patel Nagar, Vasant Vihar, RK Puram, Vasant Kunj, Hauz Khas, Malviya Nagar, Kalkaji, Mehrauli, Tughlakabad, Chhatarpur, IGNOU, and Ayanagar. Wind speeds in these areas may range from 30 to 50 kilometers per hour.
