Flash Flood Incident in Tulal Valley

In the remote village of Turtai Kilo, located in the Tulal Valley near the Line of Control in Bandipora district of northern Kashmir, a flash flood occurred due to heavy rainfall. The sudden downpour and rapidly flowing debris led to flooding conditions in the village, damaging numerous residential homes and inundating hundreds of acres of agricultural land. Fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties.

Local Residents Panic Amid Flooding

The flooding situation created a state of panic among local residents for several hours. Families rushed to higher ground, attempting to save their children and livestock. Officials noted that earlier this month, on June 4, another flash flood incident occurred in the hilly Bathoi area of Reasi district, which also resulted in damage to several homes, but again, no injuries were reported.

Recent Series of Flash Floods in Jammu Region

This incident marks the fifth flash flood occurrence in the Jammu region in recent days. Authorities reported that on Tuesday, four flash flood incidents took place across three districts: Doda, Kishtwar, and Poonch, leading to sudden flooding in various areas and road closures, although there were no reports of loss of life or property.
