Weather Warnings Across the Nation
The meteorological department has issued alerts for heavy rainfall and hailstorms as various weather systems are currently active across different regions of the country. A trough extends from Uttar Pradesh to Rajasthan, while another is present from Karnataka to the Kanyakumari area. Additionally, an anti-cyclonic circulation is forming in the interior regions of Maharashtra.
Due to these systems, several states are expected to experience rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds. Between April 25 and 28, light to moderate rain and snowfall are anticipated in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad, along with thunderstorms and lightning. Himachal Pradesh may see rain from April 28 to 30, while Uttarakhand is likely to experience rainfall on April 25, 26, and from April 28 to 30.
In Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh, rain and strong winds are expected from April 27 to 30, while western Uttar Pradesh may see similar weather from April 28 to 30, and eastern Uttar Pradesh from April 28 to May 1. Rajasthan is also likely to face adverse weather conditions between April 27 and 29.
The northeastern states, including Arunachal Pradesh, are forecasted to receive widespread rainfall from April 25 to 28, with Assam and Meghalaya expecting rain from April 27 to May 1. Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura may see rain from April 25 to 29, with strong winds anticipated in Assam and Meghalaya on April 25 and 26.
Heavy rainfall alerts have been issued for Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, and other northeastern states. Light to moderate rain and strong winds are also expected in West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha from April 25 to May 1, with hail likely in Jharkhand on April 26 and 27.
Rain and thunderstorms are predicted in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Vidarbha between April 25 and 29. Southern states, including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Telangana, may also experience rain and strong winds during this period.
From April 25 to 27, a heatwave alert is in effect for Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi. Rajasthan may see heatwave conditions on April 25 and 26, while Bihar is expected to experience similar weather on April 25.
