The meteorological department has issued warnings for thunderstorms and heavy rainfall on June 1, affecting 19 states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar. High Winds and Hail Expected
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of severe thunderstorms with winds reaching speeds of up to 90 kilometers per hour. Farmers and fishermen are urged to avoid unnecessary trips to riverbanks, as strong winds may uproot trees and plants in several northern districts. Additionally, hailstorms are predicted in various states, and travelers in hilly regions are advised to check weather updates before heading out.
Cyclonic System Influencing Weather Changes
Meteorologists have identified a cyclonic circulation forming over the lower and middle tropospheric levels in northwestern Uttar Pradesh. A similar system is also present over the eastern central and southeastern Bay of Bengal. These meteorological changes are expected to bring storms and rain to a large portion of the country.
Alert Issued for 19 States
The meteorological department has issued alerts for heavy rainfall and storms in 19 states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam, Tripura, and Nagaland. During this time, eastern states may also experience severe lightning and thunderstorms.
Weather Forecast for Delhi
The forecast for Delhi indicates heavy rain and storms on June 1. Winds are expected to blow at speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour. The temperature is projected to reach a maximum of 35 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius.
