Weather Forecast for Delhi

On Saturday, Delhi is expected to experience strong winds and thunderstorms, with maximum temperatures hovering around 40 degrees Celsius. This information was provided by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The IMD reported a minimum temperature of 29.6 degrees Celsius in the national capital, which is 1.6 degrees above the normal range.


Recent Temperature Records

Thursday marked the hottest day of the season in Delhi, with the 'feels-like' temperature or heat index reaching 54.4 degrees Celsius. Despite expectations of relief from the heat on Friday, meteorologists are now predicting the continuation of heat conditions, along with the possibility of thunderstorms. The Safdarjung weather station recorded a maximum temperature of 43.9 degrees Celsius, which is 4 degrees above normal and the highest since Tuesday's 43.8 degrees.


Humidity and Air Quality

On Wednesday, the maximum temperature was noted at 43.3 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 30.7 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees higher than usual. Humidity levels fluctuated between 39% and 73%, resulting in a muggy atmosphere that caused discomfort for residents.


Current Humidity and Air Quality Index

According to the weather department, relative humidity was recorded at 68% at 8:30 AM. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) reported that the Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 156 at 9 AM on Saturday, categorizing it as 'moderate'. According to CPCB data, an AQI of 0 to 50 is considered 'good', 51 to 100 'satisfactory', 101 to 200 'moderate', 201 to 300 'poor', 301 to 400 'very poor', and 401 to 500 'severe'.
