Impact of Continuous Rainfall in Gaggal

Rajkumar Choudhary

Gaggal (Kangra): The persistent rainfall that began last night has resulted in significant waterlogging along the Gaggal–Dharamshala route. An overflowing drain near Union Bank has inundated adjacent shops and residences, causing considerable distress for both residents and business owners.

Residents have expressed concerns that, although the monsoon season has just commenced, inadequate drainage systems are already leading to severe issues. Local citizens are calling on the authorities and the local panchayat to prioritize the cleaning and upkeep of drainage systems ahead of the peak monsoon period. There is a growing fear that if preventive actions are not implemented, more intense rainfall could exacerbate the situation.
