North India Heatwave 2025 Update

North India Heatwave 2025 LIVE: For several days now, North India has been experiencing a severe heatwave, with temperatures soaring to alarming levels in various regions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted that heatwave conditions will persist over Jammu-Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi from June 12 to June 14.

A Red Alert has been issued for the capital city today, June 12, 2025. Residents are urged to take precautions as there has been a noticeable increase in heat-related health issues. Other regions likely to be affected include Himachal Pradesh, as well as West and East Rajasthan. Furthermore, the Weather Department anticipates hot and humid conditions in West Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh in the upcoming days.

Additionally, extremely warm nights are predicted for Assam and Meghalaya this week. Interestingly, India had a relatively cooler May due to the early onset of the monsoon in North and Central India. However, the absence of rainfall in many areas since early June has led to a sharp rise in temperatures.
