Delhi Weather Update: The capital is currently experiencing extreme heat, with temperatures exceeding 43 degrees Celsius. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for the city, effective until June 12, 2025. Residents are urged to take precautions as there has been a noticeable rise in heat-related health issues.
On Tuesday, the temperature peaked at a concerning 43.8 degrees Celsius. Forecasts indicate that by Thursday, June 12, temperatures could reach as high as 45 degrees Celsius. However, there may be some relief on the horizon, as the Met Department predicts a partly cloudy sky, with a chance of light rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds.

The IMD suggests that heatwave conditions may persist in isolated areas of Delhi on June 13. A yellow alert has been issued for the following day, with expectations of a partly cloudy sky and potential rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 km/h, with gusts possibly hitting 60 km/h. Similar weather patterns are anticipated until June 15.
From June 16 to 17, the forecast indicates a generally cloudy sky with light showers. The Weather Body has also confirmed that no heatwave conditions are expected in Delhi from June 14 to 17, with temperatures likely dropping below 40 degrees Celsius by the upcoming Tuesday.
