Heatwave Conditions Forecasted Across India
New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning that heatwave to severe heatwave conditions are expected to continue across the plains of northwest India, as well as Central and Eastern India, and parts of Peninsular India over the next six to seven days.
According to the IMD, isolated regions in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh are likely to experience heatwave conditions from May 22 to May 28.
The IMD further indicated that severe heatwave conditions are anticipated in East Uttar Pradesh and East Madhya Pradesh during this timeframe.
Additionally, heatwave conditions are expected in some areas of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi from May 22 to May 28, with severe conditions predicted between May 24 and May 27.
The IMD also noted that isolated pockets in Rajasthan may experience heatwave conditions during May 22-28, with severe heatwave conditions likely in West Rajasthan from May 24-28.
Regions including Vidarbha, Coastal Andhra, Yanam, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Telangana, Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand are also forecasted to face heatwave or severe heatwave conditions on various dates between May 22 and May 28.
Moreover, warm night conditions are expected in isolated areas of Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha from May 22 to May 24, in Odisha from May 22 to May 26, and in Telangana on May 22 and 23.
