Seven Lives Lost in Wall Collapse Due to Heavy Rain in Delhi
Tragic Wall Collapse in Jaitpur
A devastating incident occurred in the Hari Nagar area of Jaitpur, southeast Delhi, where a wall fell down after a night of heavy rainfall, resulting in the deaths of seven individuals, including three men, two women, and two children.
The victims have been identified as Ravi Bull, 27, Rubina, 25, and Safikul, 27, from Assam, along with Muttus, 50, from West Bengal, and Doli, 28, also from Assam. Additionally, a 25-year-old named Hasibul suffered injuries during the incident.
Those who were rescued have been taken to a hospital for treatment. Authorities are now working to evacuate nearby huts to prevent any further tragedies.
According to Additional DCP South East Aishwarya Sharma, "An old temple is located here, adjacent to which are makeshift homes where scrap dealers reside. The wall collapsed due to the intense rainfall overnight. Eight individuals were trapped but have since been rescued and are receiving medical care. We are unsure of the exact number of fatalities, but we believe that 3-4 individuals are critically injured and may not survive. We have evacuated these makeshift homes to avert future incidents."
