Major Drug Bust in Ranchi

In a significant operation, authorities in Ranchi apprehended seven individuals, including two women, after seizing brown sugar valued at 1.5 million rupees. This information was disclosed by the police on Wednesday.


A senior police official revealed that the operation was initiated on Tuesday in the Shantinagar area of the Sadar police station, following intelligence regarding the involvement of certain traffickers in the trade of brown sugar.


City Superintendent of Police Paras Rana stated, "We have arrested seven drug traffickers, including two women, and confiscated 85.71 grams of brown sugar, seven mobile phones, a motorcycle, 7,300 rupees in cash, and an electronic weighing machine."


Additionally, he mentioned that a girl was also taken into custody during the raid. A case has been registered at the Sadar police station under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act of 1985.
