Introduction to the Seva Sankalp Trophy

In celebration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, the 'Seva Sankalp Trophy' was introduced for the T-20 National Disabled Cricket Tournament, set to take place in Varanasi. The unveiling occurred at Hotel Taj on Thursday, led by Nitin Nabin, the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Pankaj Chaudhary, the BJP State President and Union Minister of State for Finance, also attended as a special guest.


Empowering Athletes Through Sports

During his speech, Nitin Nabin emphasized that disability is a mental barrier rather than a physical one. He stated, 'Individuals with disabilities are just as capable as anyone else. Given the right opportunities and platforms, they can excel both nationally and internationally through their skills.'


He highlighted the ongoing efforts by both central and state governments to integrate disabled individuals into society and enhance their development. 'We aim to boost the involvement of disabled athletes in sports and offer them improved opportunities. Sports serve not only as a competitive arena but also as a means to build self-confidence, discipline, and resilience. Disabled athletes are setting remarkable examples through their dedication and talent. Events like this will not only honor their abilities but also foster a culture of positivity and inclusivity in society,' Nabin remarked.


Promoting an Inclusive India

Siddharth Singh, the chairman of the organizing committee, shared that the goal of this national event in Varanasi is to uplift disabled athletes, instill hope and confidence in them, and promote the message of an inclusive India through sports. He noted that cricket teams representing various states will participate in this competition, which aims to convey a new message to the city through the gathering of national-level players.


National Competition to Showcase Talent

Uttam Ojha, President of the All India Disabled Cricket Association, provided an overview of the competition's structure and preparations to Nitin Nabin. He explained that teams from different states will compete in this national event, offering a significant platform for disabled players to display their cricketing skills and gain national recognition. Ojha also discussed the event's preparations, participating teams, and the competition's objectives.


Acknowledgements

The event was moderated by Sanjay Chaurasia, General Secretary of the All India Disabled Cricket Association, who expressed gratitude to Nitin Nabin and emphasized the support for disabled individuals. He noted that such events invigorate the players. Convener Virbhadra Singh also thanked all guests and attendees, with notable figures like Akhilesh Yadav and Roshan Dwivedi present at the gathering.
