Serious Conspiracy Uncovered Against Maharashtra Leaders: SIT Report

SIT Report Reveals Plot Against Maharashtra Leaders

A recent report from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has unveiled a serious conspiracy aimed at implicating Maharashtra's Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in a false case. This incident traces back to a 2016 event recorded at the Thane city police station. The SIT's findings recommend filing criminal charges against former Director General of Police Sanjay Pandey, former Deputy Commissioner Lakshmikant Patil, and Assistant Commissioner Sardar Patil for allegedly orchestrating this plot against the leaders. Notably, this report was submitted by former DGP Rashmi Shukla just five days before her retirement to the Additional Chief Secretary (Home).

Political Context and Upcoming Elections

According to the report, attempts to frame Devendra Fadnavis intensified during the tenure of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, particularly after Sanjay Pandey was appointed as the Mumbai Police Commissioner and later as DGP. Meanwhile, voting for 29 municipal elections across Maharashtra, including in Mumbai, Pune, and Pimpri-Chinchwad, is scheduled for January 15, with the counting set for January 16.

Eknath Shinde's Campaign Efforts

Just a day prior, Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde campaigned in Pune ahead of the municipal elections, asserting that the Mahayuti alliance is contesting on developmental issues and is poised for victory in both Mumbai and Pune. During his visit to Katraj, Shinde addressed the media, stating that he was unaware of any statements made by party workers but emphasized that both Shiv Sena and the Bharatiya Janata Party are committed to contesting the elections with full strength.
