Palakkad (Kerala), August 3 - A bus operated by the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge near Potundi, close to Nenmanra, on Monday, resulting in multiple serious injuries among passengers, according to police reports. The incident occurred around 9:30 AM while the bus was en route from Nelliyampathi to Nenmanra.

Authorities indicated that the bus became lodged between trees after falling into the gorge, preventing it from descending further. Several passengers sustained injuries, with three reported to be in critical condition. A woman was found unconscious at the scene and is currently in a precarious state, as per police statements.

Emergency services and police personnel promptly arrived at the site following the incident and initiated a rescue operation. The injured individuals have been transported to a hospital in Nelliyampathi for treatment.
