This troubling incident occurred at a composite school in the Palia block, which caters to students from grades 1 to 8. Several girls from grades 6, 7, and 8 have accused their assistant teacher, Sunil Kumar Singh, originally from Ghaziabad, of inappropriate actions. According to the students, the teacher would call them over under the pretext of checking homework or assignments, only to show them obscene images or videos, make lewd comments, recite inappropriate poetry, and touch them inappropriately. If any girl protested or cried, he would resort to physical violence. The gravity of these allegations is deeply distressing.
Students Share Their Experiences
Following these allegations, a video surfaced showing some girls sharing their experiences in an interview. In the video, they recount their fears and how attending school had become terrifying for them. Many would cry at home but were too scared to speak out. Eventually, when the situation escalated, some girls confided in their parents, who promptly filed a complaint at the Chandan Chowki police station.
Legal Action Taken Against the Teacher
The police have taken this matter very seriously, and on February 28, 2026, a case was filed against Sunil Kumar Singh under the POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act). This law is designed to prevent sexual crimes against children and prescribes stringent penalties. The police registered the case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the POCSO Act. The accused teacher is currently reported to be on the run, and law enforcement is actively searching for him.
Immediate Suspension of the Accused
In response to the incident, the Basic Education Officer (BSA) of the school took swift action, suspending Sunil Kumar Singh with immediate effect. The department has stated that if the allegations are proven true, further strict departmental actions will follow. An investigation is ongoing, and the complete truth is expected to emerge soon.
