A group from the Pensioners’ Welfare Association, Bharmour Unit recently presented a memorandum to the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Bharmaur, outlining various issues and requests concerning senior citizens and pensioners. The representatives urged the local government to act swiftly to resolve these matters.
The memorandum proposed the creation of a dedicated Senior Citizens’ Hall in Bharmaur, intended as a space for elderly residents to meet, participate in social activities, and foster community interaction. The association recommended that a suitable area within the SADA Complex be allocated for this initiative.
Additionally, the delegation requested the establishment of a local office for the issuance of birth, death, and marriage certificates, highlighting the difficulties and additional costs faced by individuals traveling from remote locations to obtain these essential documents.
A significant request included raising the monthly medical allowance for retired personnel from ₹400 to ₹2000, citing the impact of inflation and increasing medication costs that have placed a financial strain on senior citizens.
The memorandum also emphasized the necessity for improved facilities during the Manimahesh Yatra, including road upkeep, sanitation, emergency services, and other critical infrastructure to enhance the experience for both pilgrims and local residents.
The association expressed optimism that the administration would respond favorably to these requests and take appropriate measures to support the elderly community in the area.
Among those present were Association President Dheeraj Thakur, General Secretary Krishna Thakur, Treasurer M.R. Patial, Senior Vice President Chain Singh Thakur, senior member Pyar Singh Chadak, Guddu, Dalip Singh, and other members.
