She expressed gratitude towards her husband, family, and various organizations including AFI, SAI, NCOE Patiala, and JSW for their unwavering support, dedicating her remarkable podium finish to her husband for his steadfast presence throughout her career.
Seema Reflects on Emotional Sacrifices
"I am extremely delighted. Winning a bronze medal at my first Commonwealth Games is a remarkable experience. I did not encounter significant challenges during the event, aside from the cold weather which required me to warm up frequently. Overall, the competition was excellent. My husband arrived just two days ago. My son expressed a desire to accompany me, but this moment is deeply emotional. Unfortunately, I cannot bring him along, which is quite painful. You could say it’s a sacrifice," Seema shared.
Acknowledging Support and Dedication
"The support from AFI has been immense, and SAI has also contributed significantly to my journey. Currently, I am training at NCOE Patiala, and JSW has been a great help as well. My family has always been there whenever I needed assistance. I dedicate this medal to my husband, as all the hard work and sacrifices leading to this achievement have been possible due to his unwavering support," she added.
Shared Aspirations with Her Husband
Ravinder, Seema Kaliramna's husband, expressed that winning a medal for the nation is the ultimate aspiration for any athlete. He noted that they share a common passion, ambition, and spirit in representing India on the international stage. "Every athlete dreams of earning a medal for their country. We both share this dream and the same spirit," he stated.
Final Results of the Women's Discus Throw
In the women's discus throw final at the Commonwealth Games 2026, Jamaica's Samantha Hall secured the gold medal with a throw of 61.66m, while Canada's Julia Tunks took home the silver with a throw of 60.67m. Seema Kaliramna finished third, achieving a personal best throw of 58.65m.
