Enhanced Security for Upcoming Amarnath Yatra

In light of the recent terrorist incident in Pahalgam, the Amarnath Yatra has emerged as a significant security priority for the authorities in Jammu and Kashmir. To ensure the safety and smooth execution of the 38-day pilgrimage set to commence on July 3, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha organized an all-party meeting at Raj Bhawan, gathering political leaders from various factions.

The meeting saw participation from Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary, and representatives from multiple political entities, including the National Conference, BJP, Congress, CPI(M), Apni Party, and Peoples Democratic Front. The primary focus was to assess the arrangements and discuss security measures for the forthcoming yatra.

During the discussions, LG Sinha provided insights into the comprehensive security protocols established to ensure a safe pilgrimage. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also shared updates regarding the logistical and administrative steps taken by his administration to safeguard the pilgrims.

AICC General Secretary Ghulam Ahmad Mir expressed confidence in the arrangements, stressing the necessity of civilian involvement in managing the yatra and facilitating public movement alongside the pilgrimage. CPI(M) leader and MLA M Y Tarigami underscored the vital role of the local populace, particularly those from the Valley, in ensuring the yatra's success each year. He reiterated their commitment to warmly host and protect the yatris.

This high-level meeting showcased the unity and dedication of political figures to guarantee a peaceful, secure, and successful Amarnath Yatra, despite recent adversities, reflecting the community's determination to uphold the Valley's spiritual and cultural legacy.
