Bomb Threat Email Received Again

The Golden Temple in Amritsar has received another bomb threat via email, marking the second consecutive day of such alarming communications. In response to this threat, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has intensified security measures within the temple complex.


Immediate Action Taken by Authorities

Following the alarming email, which warned of explosives being present, both SGPC officials and the Punjab police initiated prompt and coordinated actions. The email specifically mentioned the potential presence of RDX and hinted at possible damage to the sacred site, although it did not provide a clear timeline for the threat.


Increased Vigilance Around the Temple

Kulwant Singh Mannan, the SGPC's chief secretary, confirmed the details of the threat and stated that while the email might be a hoax intended to instill fear, they are not taking any chances. Security patrols have been heightened throughout the temple, particularly around the circumambulation path and nearby alleys. Additionally, CCTV surveillance has been enhanced, and recent footage is under thorough review.
