In a troubling incident in Virar, located in Maharashtra's Palghar district, a 53-year-old security guard has been apprehended on charges of sexually assaulting two students. This information was confirmed by local police on Sunday.


According to an official, the alleged offenses took place between June 15 and June 20. An officer from the Arnala police station stated that following a complaint from the school manager, a First Information Report (FIR) was filed against the guard, Raymond Wilson Dias, under Section 75 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for sexual harassment, as well as Sections 5, 8, and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The victims, aged 17 and 15, are both students at the same school.


The police reported that the suspect was arrested on Saturday evening, and investigations into the case are ongoing.
