On Saturday, security forces discovered a significant cache of weapons and ammunition during a coordinated search operation in the Maoist-affected Birhoderra forest of Jharkhand. This information was confirmed by a senior police official.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Harvinder Singh stated that this operation was initiated following a recent encounter between Maoists and security personnel in the area.
According to the SP, the operation, conducted by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) along with the district armed police, resulted in the recovery of a Self-Loading Rifle (SLR), 20 cartridges, a magazine for an INSAS rifle, an SLR magazine, two bundles of codex wire, and a detonator. Notably, two Maoists were killed in an encounter that took place on Wednesday in the Gomia police station area, during which one CRPF soldier also lost his life.
