Major Seizures in Narayanpur District

On Friday, law enforcement officials reported that security forces uncovered a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, explosives, and cash amounting to 2.4 million rupees from two Maoist hideouts in the forests of Narayanpur district, Chhattisgarh. Following the declaration of Chhattisgarh as free from armed Naxalism on March 31, search operations in the Bastar region have intensified. Teams are actively seeking out cash, arms, and explosives previously concealed by the Maoists. The Bastar region encompasses seven districts, including Narayanpur. A senior police officer indicated that based on specific intelligence, separate search operations were conducted earlier this week in the police jurisdictions of Orchha and Chhotedongar.


Findings from Orchha and Chhotedongar

During the operation in the hilly forest areas of Tekla, under the Orchha police station, security forces discovered a hidden dump belonging to the Maoists, containing weapons, ammunition, communication devices, and other materials. The recovered items included one INSAS rifle, two INSAS magazines with 21 rounds, two SLR rifles, four SLR magazines with 63 live rounds, two .303 rifles, two .303 magazines with 65 live rounds, two 30-OC guns, nine magazines with 36 live rounds, one BGL launcher, one single-shot gun, three detonators, two scanners, and 28 rounds of 6.7 mm ammunition.


Cash Recovery in Chhotedongar

In another operation, security forces recovered 2.4 million rupees in cash hidden by Maoists in the hilly areas of Toyameta, within the Chhotedongar police station jurisdiction, on Thursday. Officials stated that the security forces remain committed to ensuring peace, security, and development in the district through ongoing anti-Maoist operations. The Narayanpur police have urged the public to report any suspicious activities or information to the authorities, contributing to the strengthening of peace, security, and development in the area. These items were seized during two separate operations in Narayanpur district, highlighting the ongoing intensive search efforts by security forces in the Bastar region.
