Srinagar: On Saturday, security personnel in Kashmir successfully intercepted three drones that were reportedly sent by Pakistan to target critical infrastructure in the region, according to official sources.

The first drone was downed by the air-defense system while it was flying over the old airfield in Srinagar, coinciding with significant explosions that shook the city.

Witnesses reported hearing two loud blasts near the Srinagar airport around midday.

Officials confirmed that the drone, which was operating above the so-called 'technical' airport, was neutralized by the air-defense system.

Subsequently, two additional drones were intercepted in the Baramulla district of northern Kashmir.

These drones were taken down by security forces as they approached a sensitive installation in the Hyderbeig area of Pattan.
