Details of the IED
The IED was equipped with plastic explosives, a primer, an electric detonator, a remote trigger, and batteries. It was strategically placed near fruit orchards along the roadside close to Jainapura. According to sources, the device was likely intended to target security force vehicles operating in the region. During a routine search operation, the RR team spotted the suspicious object and promptly alerted the bomb disposal squad, which safely deactivated the device, preventing a potential disaster.
Thwarted Terrorist Scheme
A military spokesperson praised the alertness of the troops, stating, 'A major conspiracy to disrupt peace in the area by terrorists has been foiled.' This recovery indicates that terrorists are still attempting to disrupt normal life in the valley ahead of the summer tourist season.
