Security Alert in Rajasthan Following Bomb Threats to Legislative Assembly and Courts
Bomb Threats Prompt Security Measures in Rajasthan
In response to bomb threats directed at the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, High Court, and session court buildings, security agencies heightened their vigilance on Monday, initiating extensive search operations.
Officials reported that upon receiving the threats, the premises were promptly evacuated, and police launched a thorough search effort.
The police disclosed that an email was received at the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly office, warning of a bomb threat within the next three hours. Consequently, staff were evacuated, and a search operation commenced. Bomb disposal units and canine teams were dispatched to the scene.
A police spokesperson stated, “The area was immediately cleared for a comprehensive search. So far, no suspicious items have been discovered.” The official noted that a bomb threat email had also been sent to the session court's official ID, prompting the court administration to alert the police control room and senior officials. During the search, a high alert was declared in the session court area, with additional police forces deployed.
The spokesperson added, “A detailed search operation was conducted by bomb disposal and canine units, but no suspicious items were found.” Following a similar bomb threat to the High Court, the premises were evacuated, and a search was initiated, which also yielded no suspicious findings. Notably, the High Court had previously received bomb threats on February 6, 17, 19, 20, and March 17. As of now, no suspects have been apprehended in connection with these threats.
