Search Intensifies for Missing 84-Year-Old Nancy Guthrie
Ongoing Investigation into Nancy Guthrie's Disappearance
It has been 45 days since Nancy Guthrie, aged 84, was last seen in January, and efforts to locate her are still underway. A source from law enforcement informed a local media outlet that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is broadening its interview process as part of the ongoing search. Agents have revisited the Catalina Foothills area, where Guthrie resided, and are now engaging with individuals who do not typically live in the neighborhood, such as landscapers and construction workers. The source emphasized that this expanded interviewing strategy does not indicate a regression in the investigation.
In a related effort, 88-CRIME has placed a new billboard along Interstate 10, offering a reward of $102,000 for any information that could lead to Guthrie's safe return. This is in addition to a substantial $1 million reward from her family and a $100,000 reward from the FBI. The Pima County Sheriff's Department has stated that investigators are diligently analyzing evidence, which includes lab results and surveillance footage. Authorities have received a staggering number of tips, with the FBI reporting over 25,000 tips between February 1 and March 2. Additionally, more than 30,000 calls and tips were logged within the first two weeks after Guthrie was reported missing. Police have urged local residents to share any relevant video footage that could aid in the investigation. Furthermore, 88-CRIME has reported receiving 2,445 anonymous tips through its hotline, website, and the P3 Tips mobile application.
