Major Contract Awarded for Jaipur Metro Phase 2

Seagal India Limited, a company in the infrastructure sector, announced on Sunday that its joint venture, CILSam India, has been awarded a contract worth ₹918.04 crore by the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation Limited. According to a statement from Seagal India, this contract involves the design and construction of a high viaduct and ten elevated metro stations as part of the Phase 2 extension of the Jaipur Metro, covering a distance of 10.8 kilometers.

CILSam India is primarily owned by Seagal India, which holds a 74% stake, while the remaining 26% is owned by Sam India Builtwell Private Limited.


Project Completion Timeline

The total bid amount for the project is ₹918.04 crore, with a completion deadline set at 34 months. Ramnik Sehgal, Chairman and Managing Director of Seagal India, stated that securing this package for Jaipur Metro Phase 2 marks a significant milestone for the company as it diversifies its infrastructure portfolio beyond roads and highways into urban mobility projects.


Formal Approval for Jaipur Metro Phase 2

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs granted formal approval for the second phase of the Jaipur Metro, which has an estimated cost of ₹13,037.66 crore, on Wednesday. Officials indicated that this approval came approximately 20 days after the project received clearance from the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on April 8. The second phase includes a 41-kilometer north-south corridor from Prahladpura to Todi Mod and will feature 36 stations, aimed at enhancing public transport in Jaipur. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has already instructed officials to expedite the implementation of the project following the cabinet's approval.
