New Delhi, Apr 18: The renowned German rock band Scorpions, famous for their iconic tracks like 'Wind of Change' and 'Blackout', has announced the cancellation of their eagerly awaited tour in India, which included a performance in Shillong. This decision comes due to unexpected medical issues affecting some members of the band.

The tour was set to commence in Shillong on April 21 at JN Stadium, a significant venue in the Northeast, before moving on to Delhi-NCR on April 24, Bengaluru on April 26, and concluding in Mumbai on April 30.

BookMyShow Live, the event organizers, shared the news of the cancellation through an Instagram update on Saturday.

In their statement, they expressed, “We regret to inform you that the Scorpions ‘Coming Home’ India Tour scheduled in Shillong on April 21st, Delhi-NCR on April 24th, Bengaluru on April 26th, and Mumbai on April 30th, stands cancelled due to unforeseen medical circumstances affecting the band members.”

They further apologized for the disappointment caused to fans, assuring that the band is eager to perform in India when circumstances allow. All tickets purchased via BookMyShow will be refunded automatically within 7 to 10 working days.

The last time Scorpions performed in India was in the 2000s, during their 'Acoustica Live Tour' in August 2001, which included a concert in Bengaluru, and later in December 2007 as part of their 'Humanity World Tour', where they played in Shillong, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.

The cancellation of the Shillong concert has left many rock enthusiasts in the Northeast disappointed, as the region has a rich history of embracing international rock music.
