Closure of Educational Institutions in Nahan
Nahan (Himachal Pradesh), July 29 - In response to forecasts of heavy rainfall, authorities have ordered the closure of all educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and Anganwadi centers, in the Nahan subdivision of Sirmaur district. Rajiv Sankhyan, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Nahan, issued this directive on Tuesday night following an 'Orange Alert' from the meteorological department based in Shimla.
The alert warns of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning, which could lead to sudden flooding, landslides, and other weather-related incidents, posing a serious threat to life and property.
The order states, 'Considering the current condition of the roads, the weather forecast, and public transport, all government and private educational institutions in the Nahan subdivision, including schools, colleges, industrial training institutes, and Anganwadi centers, will remain closed on July 29.' However, previously scheduled examinations at educational institutions will proceed as planned. The order emphasizes that heads of all relevant educational institutions must ensure strict compliance with this directive for the safety of students.
