Savannah Guthrie Remains Hopeful in Search for Missing Mother

Continued Search for Nancy Guthrie

Television host Savannah Guthrie has shared her optimism as the search for her missing mother, Nancy Guthrie, enters its seventh week. On Sunday, she posted on social media, expressing her belief in a positive outcome with the message "I believe, I believe," accompanied by an image reflecting biblical themes. Nancy, aged 84, was last seen on January 31 after being dropped off at her residence in Tucson, Arizona. Authorities initiated a search the next day when she did not show up for church services.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department suspects that Nancy may have been abducted overnight, as surveillance footage captured a masked individual at her front door. In a statement aired on local television on March 21, Savannah and her siblings expressed gratitude to the Tucson community for their support, stating, "We are deeply grateful for the outpouring from neighbours, friends, and the people of Tucson. We are all family now." They emphasized that they believe the local community holds crucial information for resolving the case.

The family urged anyone with details, particularly regarding the events of January 31 and the early hours of February 1, to come forward. "Our focus is solely on finding her and bringing her home," they stated. "We want to celebrate her beautiful and courageous life. But we cannot do that until she is brought to a final place of rest. Thank you for continuing to pray without ceasing." Sheriff Chris Nanos mentioned earlier this month that investigators might have identified a potential motive, suggesting that the abduction was targeted, although they are not entirely certain. No additional information about the motive has been disclosed.

Since her mother's disappearance, Guthrie, who co-hosts NBC’s Today show, has made few public appearances. In a video released in February, she made a heartfelt appeal for information, stating, "It’s never too late… it is never too late to do the right thing. And we are here. And we believe."
