Sanjay Singh Comments on Khamenei's Passing

Member of Parliament Sanjay Singh from the Aam Aadmi Party expressed his thoughts on the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, describing it as the conclusion of an era and highlighting the historical ties between India and Iran.


In his statement, Singh noted that for those whose ancestors hail from India, Khamenei's leadership marks the end of a significant period. He emphasized that India has lost a reliable ally, paying his respects to Khamenei. Singh pointed out that Iran has traditionally supported India, consistently voting against Pakistan and providing energy security. He urged the Indian government to clarify its stance during this crisis, warning that the tyranny of global powers like the United States could spread worldwide.

According to Iranian state media, a 40-day period of public mourning has been declared following Khamenei's death. He passed away after attacks by the United States and Israel on Saturday (Operation Epic Fury/Lion's Roar). The office of the Supreme Leader has announced national mourning, with flags at half-mast and public gatherings for tributes. This event symbolizes the end of a 37-year chapter in the history of the Islamic Republic.
