Political Turmoil in Shiv Sena
Following the announcement that six Lok Sabha MPs from Shiv Sena-UBT have joined Eknath Shinde's faction, party leader Sanjay Raut has indirectly targeted the rebel leaders, declaring a fight against traitors. This development comes in the wake of 'Operation Tiger', which was initiated when the six MPs formally joined the Shiv Sena led by Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, on Monday.
In a post on 'X', Rajya Sabha MP Raut stated that they have never tired or lost courage. He emphasized the need to fight against the traitors of Maharashtra, expressing high spirits and determination. The post included a picture of Raut holding a rifle. After days of speculation and sharp exchanges, the six MPs from Shiv Sena-UBT officially announced their allegiance to Eknath Shinde's faction, marking this event as 'Operation Tiger' and indicating a split within the party.
Shinde has claimed that the party will continue to face challenges, suggesting that further divisions may occur within Uddhav's faction. The rebel MPs include Nagesh Patil Ashtikar, Omraje Nimbalkar, Sanjay Jadhav, Sanjay Dina Patil, Sanjay Deshmukh, and Bhausaheb Wakchoure. Immediately after the defection, Shinde addressed the media, stating, "Six lions have arrived here... Operation Tiger is now complete and successful."
