Sanjay Raut Critiques Modi's Foreign Policy Focus

In a recent statement, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi's focus on foreign policy, suggesting that he should prioritize discussions with the Indian opposition instead. Raut's comments came after a phone call between Modi and U.S. President Trump, where he argued that engaging with domestic political leaders would yield better results. He also raised concerns about India's role in global conflicts, particularly in relation to Pakistan's diplomatic efforts. The central government, meanwhile, assured political parties of India's stable energy security during an all-party meeting, addressing various concerns raised by opposition leaders.

Sanjay Raut's Criticism of Modi's Foreign Policy

Sanjay Raut, a member of the Shiv Sena (UBT), expressed strong criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's approach to foreign policy on Wednesday. He suggested that the Prime Minister should prioritize domestic political consultations over international discussions. Commenting on a recent phone call between Modi and the U.S. President, Raut argued that instead of engaging with Donald Trump on global issues like the Middle East crisis, Modi should focus on dialogue with the opposition in India for more effective outcomes. He further remarked that Trump seems to act as if he is Modi's superior.

Raut emphasized that Modi would benefit from engaging with the opposition rather than conversing with Trump, as the latter's influence appears to overshadow Modi's leadership. He raised concerns about India's role in ongoing global conflicts, referencing Pakistan's diplomatic stance, which has shown a willingness to negotiate with Trump, a move that has been positively acknowledged.

He questioned India's position in the current global turmoil, noting that Pakistan has adopted a proactive approach by indicating its readiness for agreements, which Trump has welcomed. This situation suggests that Trump may be undermining Modi's authority. On the same day, the central government held a 1 hour and 45-minute all-party meeting, assuring all political factions that India's energy security remains stable and that additional supplies are on the way. The government confirmed that it has secured sufficient energy resources and is actively negotiating with various countries to ensure uninterrupted supply.

Following the meeting, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju expressed gratitude to all political party members who participated. He stated that the government addressed all questions and concerns raised by opposition leaders. All opposition parties assured their support for the government's actions in response to the evolving situation. Rijiju noted that all attendees engaged constructively, sharing information and expressing their respective party concerns.
