On Saturday, Sanjay, a defender for the Indian hockey team, marked a remarkable achievement by reaching 100 senior international appearances during the team's fourth Pool A match against Japan at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026. At just 25 years old, he has become a vital player for India since his senior international debut in 2023.

Sanjay's career began on a high note, contributing to India's gold medal victory at the Hangzhou Asian Games in 2023. The following year, he further enhanced his credentials by being part of the Indian squad that clinched a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics. This latest milestone of 100 international appearances adds another significant achievement to his already impressive career.
In 2024, he was instrumental in helping India win the Asian Champions Trophy, solidifying his reputation in continental competitions. His contributions continued in 2025 when India triumphed in the Asia Cup.
