Samrat Chaudhary Critiques Rahul Gandhi's Bihar Visit Amidst 'Bihar Bandh'

Samrat Chaudhary's Response to Rahul Gandhi

During Rahul Gandhi's recent visit to Bihar, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary expressed his criticism of the Mahagathbandhan's 'Bihar Bandh' initiative. He labeled the opposition as lazy individuals who lack the ability to work hard. Chaudhary stated that the people of Bihar have agreed to a review, emphasizing that these leaders are akin to royalty, referring to both the Gandhi family and Lalu Yadav as 'rajkumar' figures who do not believe in democracy. He questioned why Gandhi does not make similar statements regarding Jharkhand, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, or Karnataka.

Allegations of Electoral Fraud

Rahul Gandhi, speaking at the Mahagathbandhan's rally, claimed that just as there was electoral fraud in the Maharashtra elections, similar attempts are being made in Bihar. In response, Chaudhary suggested that Gandhi should resign, asserting that the opposition has done nothing for the public, which is why they were sent home. He accused the Gandhi family of being responsible for the country's plight, stating that Bihar's backwardness and the migration of fearful residents are due to Lalu Yadav's influence.

Gandhi's March Against Voter List Revision

Gandhi led a protest march to the Election Commission's office in Patna against the special intensive revision of the voter list, addressing members of the 'INDIA' alliance. He alleged that the BJP and NDA benefited from fraud in the Maharashtra assembly elections and are attempting to replicate this in Bihar, which he vowed to prevent. Gandhi claimed that the special intensive revision is an extension of the 'Maharashtra model' of manipulating voter lists, threatening not only the right to vote but also the future of the people.

Call for Election Commission Integrity

He urged the Election Commission to uphold the Constitution, accusing it of operating under BJP directives. Gandhi pointed out that the current election commissioners were appointed by the BJP, labeling the special intensive revision of the voter list as an attempt at electoral theft. He asserted that they will not allow the Election Commission to strip voters, especially the youth, of their voting rights.
