SP MP Denies BJP Allegations
On Thursday, Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Sanatan Pandey dismissed claims made by Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, who alleged that several SP MPs are in contact with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Pandey characterized the BJP as a party of ruthless individuals. Speaking to the media, he refuted reports of internal disagreements or any plans for party defections, stating that recent meetings focused solely on upcoming events.
Pandey downplayed Maurya's assertions, clarifying that he had not discussed such matters with Akhilesh Yadav. He emphasized that their meetings were solely to strategize for the event scheduled on August 5. Criticizing the current government, he accused the BJP of being indifferent to the issues faced by farmers, youth, and the poor, prioritizing power retention through unethical means.
According to Pandey, the BJP is a party of cruel individuals, showing no concern for farmers, youth, the poor, democracy, or the Constitution. He argued that their only goal is to maintain power by undermining other parties. To illustrate his point about the BJP's alleged opportunism, he referenced political developments involving the Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI) in West Bengal, questioning how a party that received only 800 votes in the assembly elections could suddenly gain eight rebel MPs from the TMC.
Pandey also criticized O.P. Rajbhar, the leader of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), for his recent comments on social media regarding rebel activities in Ballia. He dismissed BJP's claims that SP legislators are in touch with the ruling party, labeling Rajbhar's statements as absurd and unexpected.
