The Samajwadi Party (SP) has expelled three of its rebel legislators—Abhay Singh, Rakesh Pratap Singh, and Manoj Kumar Pandey—on Monday.

Abhay Singh, representing Gosai Ganj, Rakesh Pratap Singh from Gauriganj, and Manoj Kumar Pandey from Unchahar have been accused of openly supporting the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

In a statement on social media, the SP announced the expulsion, citing that these legislators have aligned themselves with communal divisive negativity, which contradicts the party's ideology of social harmony and positive politics. Their support for anti-farmer, anti-women, anti-youth, and anti-business sentiments led to their removal.

The party further mentioned that the grace period given for a change of heart has now expired. While others still have time to demonstrate good behavior, there will be no place in the party for those who act against its core principles. Activities opposing the party's foundational beliefs will always be deemed unacceptable.

The SP also expressed, 'Wherever you are, remain trustworthy! Best wishes!!!' The party has accused the expelled legislators of rebelling during last year's Rajya Sabha elections by voting for BJP candidates, although no immediate action was taken against them at that time.
