Sahibzada Farhan Praises Indian Bowlers After Controversial Asia Cup Remarks
Sahibzada Farhan's Controversial Statements
During the Asia Cup 2025, Pakistani cricketer Sahibzada Farhan made some controversial remarks following his performances against India. The Pakistan team faced India three times in this tournament, suffering defeats each time. Notably, after scoring a half-century in one match, Farhan celebrated with a gun gesture, which sparked significant backlash.
Following the tournament, he even produced a documentary after hitting a six off Jasprit Bumrah, leading to further criticism. Recently, Farhan has once again commented on his sixes against India.
Praise for Kuldeep and Axar
In an interview with ESPN Cricinfo, Sahibzada Farhan reflected on his memorable sixes against India during the Asia Cup, stating,
“The sixes I hit against India in the Asia Cup are unforgettable for me. It was then that people recognized my ability to hit sixes.”
He also commended Indian spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel, saying,
“When discussing Bumrah, I don’t think he is the only bowler in the Indian team. All their bowlers are among the best, including Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav. It’s not just about Bumrah. I started against Bumrah, and hitting a six off a good bowler boosts your confidence.”
Farhan's Thoughts on Jasprit Bumrah
Sahibzada Farhan described the Indian bowling attack as one of the strongest in the world. Regarding Jasprit Bumrah, he remarked,
“Initially, it was challenging to face Bumrah. He bowled slower balls, yorkers, and bouncers. He swings the ball both ways. It’s common to find him difficult to play against, so you have to find a way to tackle him. Once you manage to get past that bowler, I believe facing other bowlers becomes easier.”
