Safety of 14 Indians on Yacht Off Yemen Coast Confirmed Amid Rising Tensions
Indian Nationals Safe After Yacht Incident
Dubai: The Indian government confirmed on Friday that all 14 of its citizens aboard a yacht involved in an incident off Yemen's coast are safe, and efforts will continue to ensure their welfare.
Reports from some Arab media on Thursday cited Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree, who alleged that Saudi forces targeted the Indian yacht near Yuqar Island in the Red Sea.
Saree mentioned that the yacht was carrying 14 Indian nationals and that Houthi forces were in the process of rescuing them, promising to provide further details soon.
The Indian mission shared on social media, "Reports indicate that all 14 Indian nationals are safe and are currently located near Hodeidah in Yemen. We will persist in our efforts to ensure their well-being."

The Indian embassy has yet to comment specifically on the alleged attack on the yacht.
Previously, the embassy stated it was in contact with various parties to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
This event occurs amid escalating tensions between Iran-backed Houthis and Saudi Arabia, with both sides targeting each other's infrastructure.
The Indian Embassy also mentioned it was gathering information regarding the incident involving the 14 nationals and would provide all necessary assistance to ensure their safety, especially given the rising tensions in the area.
In a related note, an Indian citizen was killed, and three others were injured in two separate attacks on a major airport and an oil field in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.
