Safety First: Railway Board's Director General Evaluates East Coast Railway Operations
Safety Inspection by Railway Board Director General
In Bhubaneswar, the Railway Board's Director General for Safety, Hari Shankar Verma, wrapped up a three-day safety evaluation of the East Coast Railway (ECoR) that took place from July 13 to 15.
The primary goal of this visit was to review the effectiveness of safety measures, the readiness of infrastructure, and the preparedness of personnel in key areas of the railway zone.
Verma meticulously inspected the Khurda Road–Puri segment and traveled on the Bhubaneswar–New Delhi Tejas Rajdhani Express to evaluate safety conditions firsthand.
A comprehensive safety review meeting was held at the ECoR headquarters, led by General Manager Parmeshwar Funkwal, with participation from senior departmental officials.
Furthermore, Verma engaged in in-depth discussions with the Khurda Road Division's officers, including Divisional Railway Manager HS Bajwa.
The discussions centered around essential safety metrics, staff training, and employee welfare.
