On Wednesday, Indian cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar paid tribute to his late coach Ramakant Achrekar on what would have been his birthday. Through a nostalgic post on his X account, Tendulkar expressed his gratitude, stating, "Another day where I miss your presence... a little more so than usual. Happy heavenly birthday Achrekar Sir. Your legacy lives on through all the lives you touched and players you made. Thank you for everything."


Ramakant Achrekar's Legacy

Ramakant Achrekar was not only Tendulkar's mentor but also coached numerous other Indian cricketers. He received the esteemed Dronacharya Award in 1990 and was honored with the Padma Shri in 2010. Achrekar, who passed away in January 2019, was a significant figure in Mumbai's cricketing landscape, having trained over a dozen international players.
